Roots

This month there was a Mural collaboration my art community did; called “Down To Earth”.  I had to take some time to figure out what I wanted to do.  Later, I found some images of a tree that look nice as it winds when I was in Arizona.  I think it was a hickey tree.  Having to do some readjusting as the tree was tricky to keep track of.  One thing I did is stay away from blacks so I did not use carbon black or ivory black.  The darkest colors are a mixture of alizarin crimson, cadmium deep red, oxidized purple and phthalo green.  It took me almost 40 hours to paint this.  It is about 60″ by 60″.

If you are in Kenai or Soldotna it will be up on display at the Kenai Art Center and will be up tell January.
